Steve Martin and Martin Short at the Orpheum
Steve Martin and Martin Short ought need no introduction. They dominated the world of comedy throughout the 80s and 90s. Both have a repertoire of skits and movies that are still revered today as the best of the best. This includes one of the most classic 80s comedy movies, in which they both starred, “Three Amigos!”
While the two have worked together in the past, coming together for this kind of tour is a very special treat for fans. Martin has worked a lot with the Steep Canyon Rangers, and is often credited for their popularity. For the amusingly titled “An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life,” Martin and Short share stories, laughs, and music together with the bluegrass band.
Age has failed to degrade the humor or sharp wit that both actors have long mastered. The show features the two telling stories, exchanging banter, making jokes, and making music. In the past, they’ve invited audience members to participate in bits. The two are sincere and funny – watching this show is like being invited to a party where you get to witness both actors be themselves, true friends reminiscing about their lives and having a great time together.
This unique show will be in Minneapolis May 18th and 19th at 7:30 and 8 pm respectively. Performances are at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. Tickets are $79 – $199. You can find $6 downtown parking near the Orpheum after 4 pm both nights at the Park and Shop ramps.
