Collaborating with his sister, Sedaris has written six plays that have been produced at La Mama, Lincoln Center, and The Drama Department in New York City. “One Woman Shoe” received an Obie Award, and Dramatists Play Service published “The Book of Liz” in book form.

Additionally, the feature film adaptation of “C.O.G.” premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The Hennepin Theatre Trust website describes him as such:

“The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of today’s most observant writers addressing the human condition.”

Within a couple blocks of the State Theatre are two Park and Shop ramps that only cost $6 on the night of the show. The discounted parking is available after 4 pm Monday – Saturday and all day Sunday. There are a number of restaurants and bars close by for those who want to make a night out in downtown.
