Bill Maher Comes back to Minneapolis!
Bill Maher fans know that they can expect a lot of great political comedy from the comedian any time of the year. However, as we draw closer to another election, there is no better time to get excited about Maher’s material. While Maher shines when he can banter and play off of others, seeing him perform uninterrupted is sure to be the best comic relief you can find before it’s time to head to the voting booth.
Bill Maher has had huge success with his last two talk shows, “Politically Incorrect” and “Real Time.” He hosts a number of well-known guests, from celebrities to politicians, and discusses a range of topics and current events. The shows are hailed for their brutal honesty and biting wit. He’s received 34 Emmy nominations from his shows, and won his first in 2014 with the show “VICE,” of which he’s an executive producer.
Television and film aren’t his only avenues of success. Maher has also authored several books, five of them bestsellers. Among them are True Story, When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden, and The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody But Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass.
This long-time comic started out doing standup in 1979 and still performs around the country yearly. On Saturday August 17th, he will be at the State Theatre. Showtime is at 8 pm; tickets are $63.50 to $129. You can find $6 downtown Minneapolis parking nearby at the Park and Shop ramps. The discount is valid after 4 pm.
