Free Downtown Holiday Entertainment
Plunged in the holiday season, there is no more traditional or festive place than downtown Minneapolis. Lights border the trees, awnings, and buildings. Plays and concerts that only show up this time of year are in full swing. Shoppers are in full gear, and the surrounding restaurants welcome them for refueling and relaxation.
As the money bleeds out of our pockets quickly this time of year, it’s nice to be rewarded with entertainment that both surges our spirits and spares our pocketbooks. That’s what you’ll find at the Pantages Theatre on Tuesday, December 19th.
Thrivent Financial is sponsoring a free holiday dinner and concert that includes fellowship (should that influence your desire to go.) Dinner is at 5:30 at Marriott City Center. The concert is at 7:30 at Pantages. You need to get tickets from www.MusicfortheHolidays.com.
Parking will make the night not totally free, but it’ll be as close as you can get if you park in the Park and Shop ramps. They only cost $6 after 4 pm. (Discount runs all day on Sundays if you’re ever looking.)
