Political Comic Relief: Lovett or Leave It

Posted on 16th March, by ParkandShop

Is there a better audience than Minneapolis for a comical discussion of politics? We don’t think so. As we amp up to the annual MinnRoast, it’s the perfect time to catch the witty former speechwriter for Clinton, Jon Lovett, bring his Lovett or Leave It podcast to the State Theatre.

This podcast is part of Pod Tours America. Lovett’s weekly news podcast unites celebrity guests for a searingly funny discussion of politics. Hannah Verdier wrote a review of the live show for the Guardian titled, “Lovett or Leave It: the Pod Save America crew take the political panel show and make it funny.” In it, she writes,

“’It’s a chance to catch up on the news and make fun of the bullshit we can barely make sense of every week, with a mix of substance and jokes and rants and bad impressions,’ says Lovett, who barely pauses for breath. He is a man who wouldn’t seem out of place briefing Selina Meyer in Veep, except he really knows what he is talking about.”

The comedy will commence live at the State Theatre on Saturday, April 14 at 7 pm. Tickets are $49.50. Two park and Shop ramps close to the theatre only charge $6 to park after 4 pm. The discount is valid after 4 all week except Sundays when it’s good all day.
