Switchfoot fans have been pouring out love over the band’s latest release, Native Tongue. The Christian rock band gained some mainstream notoriety when four of their songs were on the 2002 movie A Walk to Remember soundtrack. The established musicians have since also built a reputation for their energetic live shows. Your chance to experience that yourself is almost here!

If you haven’t listened to the latest album, here are a couple of excerpts from album reviews:

“Overall, this new album by Switchfoot is very versatile and distinct, and it proves that they are constantly evolving sonically and lyrically with their music. This is a bold and brave studio effort, where the band was not afraid to take risks, and these risks were well worth it in the end. Native Tongue is a breath of fresh air, and it garners an A rating.” –Digitaljournal.com

“Always challenging themselves along the way, Switchfoot’s steady discography shows they are here for the love of music. Switchfoot is about different ways to approach life and music, and they never fail to do so. On their eleventh overall studio album, the 14 songs mark the sufferings and everything in between. The overall path of the album begins with letting down their defenses and searching for meaning. This in mind, there is a magical intro to ‘Let It Happen’ that is met with heavy electric guitar, tall drums, and angelic-like background vocals. This is before the title-track ‘Native Tongue,’ a song which was released with the album announcements to drive the excitement. A wise choice, it perfectly conveys the overall theme of the album. Witty snapping is creatively out of scope for Switchfoot and the gritty, echoing vocals almost put out an Imagine Dragons vibe.” – Crypticrock.com

The Minneapolis show prices range from $29.50 to $49.50. They’ll be at the State Theatre Wednesday, March 27 at 7:15 pm. Parking is just $6 at the Park and Shop ramps close to the venue.
