Cameron Mackintosh is bringing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s version of The Phantom of the Opera to the US after a wildly successful, sold-out tour in the UK. The musical is the same Phantom story that fans treasure, but will feature redesigns that ensure the performance is not identical to past shows. The audience will see new choreography, new staging, and a brilliant new design. The Sunday Express calls this production “stunning, intense, and spectacular.”
The Phantom of the Opera is the longest running show in Broadway history. It is based on Gaston Leroux’s French novel, “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra.” The show opened in 1986 in London’s West End and in 1988 on Broadway. Financially, it is the most successful entertainment event ever. Over 130 million people have seen the show.
Downtown Minneapolis is home to quality dining, highly-rated bars, and an art district. Whether ticketholders choose to experience more of Minneapolis or just see the show, parking options are varied. For shows after 4 pm or any time on Sunday, the best places to park are the Park and Shop ramps. At these times, they only cost $6 to park, and they’re located within walking distance of the theatre and other downtown attractions.
